Add yours by tweeting your guess for bikes parked at ComFest with #pedalnstead in your tweet. You can follow us at "pedalnstead" (we know the "i" is missing) to see what is happening in the bike corral as the weekend progresses.

Weekly Volunteer Highlight
meredithMeredith Joy has volunteered with the Enrichment Association on and off for the last two years. Her strong writing skills are utilized to help write grants to fund UAEA projects. Meredith helped develop UAEA's strategic plan, and has also helped in various design projects. In addition, Meredith has brought new partnerships to the Enrichment Association with Yay Bikes! and Amethyst. Through Meredith, Yay Bikes! has paid for all expenses related to the development of the Pedal Instead website. Meredith has assisted greatly in research related to sustainable transportation by showing how bicycling is as an empowerment tool for those who are marginalized because of socioeconomic background, age, gender, national origin, and/or weight.

What is the UAEA?

The University Area Enrichment Association (UAEA) is a civic organization that assists community members to improve the quality of life in the neighborhoods surrounding The Ohio State University. This is a community comprised of college students, families, young professionals, and retired folks of all ages, races, economic backgrounds, and religions.

An important component of the mission of the UAEA is to empower those who live, work, worship, and attend school in the University Area. We love this community; because of its strengths and its possibilities!
